Best of Both Worlds

Nashville is home to an extensive array of enchanting locally made sweets. But last year things got taken to a new level when two of the city’s most beloved sweets-makers joined forces. At the end of 2018 (past the Best of Nashville publishing date), Christie Cookies made decadent Goo Goo Cluster cookies, loaded with pieces of Original Goo Goo Clusters — milk chocolate, marshmallow nougat, caramel and peanuts — and Goo Goo Clusters concocted a glorious bigger-than-a-hockey-puck Premium Goo Goo stuffed with chunks of chocolate chip Christie Cookies, gooey brown sugar marshmallow and maple bourbon caramel. And not to get pushy, but I’m also hoping that awarding them this Best of Nashville award will inspire both sugar factories to bring back the limited-edition goodie. MEGAN SELING
