Best Rock Reissue in Nashville 2026: The Features, Exhibit A: Sweet Tea Mix
When The Features signed to Universal in the early 2000s, it felt like Nashville indie rock was finally bursting through. A major label, releasing the debut LP by the city’s greatest rock band since the Scorchers? Surely this won’t go wrong! Alas. More than 20 years later, Exhibit A is an acknowledged local-rock classic, and YK Records has given it the vinyl edition it always deserved. Michael Eades moved heaven and earth to make this happen — even getting blessing from Universal so that Mike McCarthy’s original mixes could see the light of day. Lovingly remastered by John Baldwin, the Sweet Tea Mix captures one of Nashville’s all-time greats at the height of their powers.
