Best Live Album in Nashville 2026: The FBR, Just Outside of Nashville

The FBR is the Nashville area’s leading standard-bearer for the Southern rock renaissance, as the sextet shows on their recent live album Just Outside of Nashville. Produced by Grammy-winning live producer Peer Munck and recorded at Fox & Locke in Leiper’s Fork, the album features songs from their well-regarded debut Ghost as well as new material that will be featured on their forthcoming second studio album. Lead vocalist Malarie McConaha has a smoky, soulful voice that lands somewhere between Maria Muldaur and Phoebe Snow, and the inspired songwriting spearheaded by Tim Hunter might be loosely described as Southern gothic.
