Best Rock Album in Nashville 2026: Jack White, Frozen Charlotte
Like Orson Welles as the dastardly Harry Lime in his beloved noir classic The Third Man, Jack White appeared from the shadows this summer in full rock-star mode. His latest album Frozen Charlotte, released July 10, served as a sort of spiritual sequel to 2024’s No Name, also a Best of Nashville winner. Frozen is an all-killer, no-filler set of pared-back rippers from White and his top-notch backing band. After the experimentation of 2018’s sprawling Boarding House Reach and the 2022 duo of Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive, Nashville’s foremost rocker has settled into a letting-it-rip groove, and it suits him very well.
