Best New Country Showcase in Nashville 2026: Gay Ole Opry Nashville

The popularity of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival — which itself was inspired by Lilith Fair — gives me hope for more major music festivals centered on activism and mutual aid. It’s also a good reminder of the festivals and showcases that have been doing the work right here in Nashville. Case in point: Gay Ole Opry Nashville. Founded in 2024, it’s a showcase focused on fostering community among LGBTQ country artists and fans. A showcase I had the pleasure of attending in March featured breathtaking performances from Lizzie No, Lauren Horbal and more, as well as a hilarious rendition of “God Made Girls (Lesbian Version)” by comedy band Again and Again, all while raising funds for Trans Aid Nashville.
