The Cowgays: Adam Mac, Chris Housman and Brooke Eden
Best New Artist in Nashville 2026: The Cowgays
Adam Mac, Brooke Eden and Chris Housman come together to form The Cowgays. The unapologetically queer country trio broke down walls with their debut single “Wish I Wasn’t Gay,” which took off on streaming platforms. Their brand of harmony-heavy ’90s-inspired country comes from spinning records from artists such as Shania Twain, Brooks & Dunn and LeAnn Rimes. Growing up, they never got to see gay artists live as fearlessly as they do, so they decided to become that beacon for young queer kids. Follow-up singles “Good Hoedown,” “Kids Like Us” and “Been Done Did That” further their mission of representation, self-expression, and freedom in the face of politics in 2026.
