Best Lunch

It’s rare to visit a great dinner destination for lunch without feeling like you’re getting the cheaper, smaller-plate end of the stick. But that’s not the case at Chauhan Ale & Masala House, celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan’s cozy, colorful Midtown restaurant. Using the best aspects of both Indian and Southern American cuisine, Chauhan has built a flawless menu of flavorful comfort food. The Chicken Pakora po’boy with red cabbage slaw is Chauhan’s take on the Music City mainstay, served with extra crispy (and shockingly addictive) masala fries. Not a meat eater? No problem. The beetroot and cauliflower croquette is a delightful vegetarian option, featuring falafel-like fried veggie balls folded into a naan pita with pickled vegetables (and served with the same amazing fries).
