Of course The Cupcake Collection is amazing; of course I could eat a dozen of those cupcakes in one sitting (especially the strawberry — oh, God, the strawberry). But the next time you’re looking for a dose of sugar in the Germantown area, try Whitney and Vaughn May’s Sweet Stash stand in the Nashville Farmers’ Market. The cake is a little heartier, and the buttercream, while still fluffy, is generously piled on top. Recent flavors have included orange mango, which is delicate and not-too-sweet, and chocolate raspberry, a decadent, moist-as-hell chocolate cake filled with thick raspberry compote. They also have a rotating selection of truffles, brownies and whoopie pies, and oatmeal cookie sandwiches that will make you curse every Little Debbie you’ve mindlessly shoved into your mouth.
