A few years ago, this was an easier choice. But even with Nashville becoming a legitimately good burger town, Gabby’s stands out, pairing meticulously measured grass-fed beef patties from Springfield’s Gourmet Pasture Beef with an array of toppings for a great hamburger. Grab a seat at the bar and watch closely as a ball of beef is expertly smashed onto the flattop, then charred to perfection. Somewhere Hap Townes, whose meat-and-three held down this spot for decades, must be happy.
