Chef Dan Forberg’s brunch, served every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sarah Gavigan’s Pop space on the East Side, is pretty spectacular, especially the Vegan People: a hash-brown potato cake with fava beans, mint chili slaw, cashew cream and muhammara — a divine Middle Eastern sauce made from peppers and other ingredients. Of course, after I add a poached egg and bacon to my Vegan People, it’s far from vegan — but it is exceptionally good. Also highly recommended: the brioche-dough waffles.
