Best College Team in Nashville 2026: Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball
The 2025-26 season was a hell of a year from an athletics standpoint over on West End, and the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team was the star of the show. The ’Dores started out the season with a program-record 20-game winning streak, vaulting up to No. 5 in the Associated Press Poll — the team’s highest ranking in nearly 25 years. Star sophomore Mikayla Blakes was a consensus first-team All-American, and head coach Shea Ralph earned a slew of national honors as Vandy made a run to the Sweet 16. With Blakes back in town, 2026-27 could have the ’Dores looking at the Final Four.
