in Nashville 2026: Cumberland River Compact

As Nashville’s population grows exponentially and development continues, Davidson County’s natural resources, wildlife and environment must be taken into consideration. The Cumberland River Compact is doing just that by leading stream restoration cleanups, depaving projects and other cleanup initiatives to help make Nashville a better place to live. Their efforts help protect endangered species like the Nashville crayfish and even help cool down areas of the city that are disproportionately affected by rising temperatures. Ultimately, their efforts preserve the Cumberland River, which supports one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth.
