Best Silver Lining in Nashville 2026: Community Spirit During Winter Storm Fern
Winter Storm Fern was traumatic and devastating, and I by no means had it the worst — even though we lived in a hotel for eight days and an Airbnb for three, and went without running water for days. But what I did have were neighbors who offered to walk me to their house, where they had propane heat. Neighbors who paid for a night of our hotel stay. Neighbors who cleared roads. Friends who sent money for food. Friends who donated their Airbnb. A boss who paid off our hotel bill. My fear is that these storms will become frequent. My hope is that we continue to take care of each other.
