Best College Athlete in Nashville 2026: Maya Johnson
Belmont softball ace Maya Johnson closed out her sterling college career as not just the best pitcher in the Ohio Valley Conference or on a mid-major roster, but as arguably the best pitcher in the country. The southpaw Bruin torched opponents throughout her four seasons on campus, leading Belmont to its first two NCAA Tournament appearances in program history. After earning the first Athletes Unlimited Softball League “Golden Ticket” for a mid-major player, Johnson is now starring on the diamond for the Oklahoma City Spark.
