Leah Lowe has long been a driving force in the local theater scene, both as an educator and a director. An associate professor of theater at Vanderbilt, she was recently named director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy. And she helmed a terrific staging of Cymbeline for the Nashville Shakespeare Festival this summer. But with Actors Bridge Ensemble’s production of Tiny Beautiful Things, Lowe demonstrated exceptional insight and a real gift for pacing. Her honest, character-driven approach gave the largely episodic script room to breathe — and gave audiences a rather breathtaking evening of theater
