Longtime Fort Houston curator Zack Duensing recently left his position after growing the gallery program since the Fort’s early days as the Brick Factory. Duensing’s role was indispensible in establishing Fort Houston as a First Saturday hot spot in Wedgewood-Houston. His successor, Alyssa Beach, has smartly managed to run with that momentum while simultaneously stamping the Fort’s gallery with her own unique vision and drive, organizing exhibits from artists as varied as painter Nathan McKenney, silkscreeners Grand Palace and multimedia artist Yanira Vissepo, among others.
