As part of its Attitude series last season, Nashville Ballet presented choreographer Stephen Mills’ Light/The Holocaust and Humanity Project. The work recounts the story of Naomi Warren, a real-life Holocaust survivor. The ballet, however, is fashioned as an abstract rather than literal retelling of the Holocaust, allowing it to relate to all forms of injustice. It certainly relates to many forms of music, with a diverse lineup of composers and performers including Steve Reich, Evelyn Glennie, Michael Gordon, Arvo Pärt and Philip Glass all contributing to the score.
