Best Volunteer Opportunity for Kids (During the Summer) in Nashville 2026: Grocery Distribution With Dream Streets
There weren’t many places for my children (ages 8 to 12) to volunteer last summer, because most spots are either not open to younger kids or do not operate during summer months. Luckily, we found the opportunity to help Dream Streets with its grocery distribution at various sites around town. It was the perfect way for our crew to get involved. Kids are natural sorters, so they are helpful in organizing the food, and they make excellent greeters. Also, the Dream Streets staff treats them like grown-ups, which is the highest compliment you can pay a kid any time of year.
