The craziest thing about becoming a parent is there is no gentle transition — you’re handed a baby and are immediately imbued with profound responsibility. New Mom School, established this year in East Nashville, exists to give new parents a space to learn how to keep their babies alive and their own sanity intact. NMS classes are built around birth dates, which means we found ourselves surrounded by new parents in our exact situation — all experiencing the highs and lows of new parenthood at the same time. Part learning experience, part support group, the NMS community (and its thriving group chat) has been an invaluable resource for us at every step of our journey as new parents.
