Best Playground for Toddlers in Nashville 2026: Fannie Mae Dees Park

Until we can harness toddlers’ ability to generate massive amounts of energy from handfuls of Goldfish crackers, we need safe and fun places for them to run free. Music City has a panoply of great parks, but at many of them, kids need to be a bit taller and steadier on their feet to really cut loose. Beyond Fannie Mae Dees Park’s beloved sea serpent sculpture, the spot known to generations of Nashvillians as Dragon Park offers an impressive array of playground equipment that even young’uns very new to walking can explore independently. Add wide-open green space with abundant shade from old trees, and you’ve got a park I’ll be bringing my son to for years.

Past Best of Nashville wins: Fannie Mae Dees Park also took Best Playground in the Readers' Poll in 2023 and 2021.
