Best Zoo Baby in Nashville 2026: Gustavo the Pudu Fawn
You may not know the pudu, but you’re about to become very invested in one. The Nashville Zoo welcomed Gustavo, a puppy-sized, auburn-and-white spotted fawn, in May as its newest member of the world’s smallest deer species. Native to the Andes, pudus are notoriously shy, so spotting Gustavo in his habitat can be a challenge. But between his tiny stature, sweet face and auburn spotted coat, even in photos, he will make your heart swell. Gustavo may be small, but he’s already one of the zoo’s biggest stars.
