Best Social Enterprise

Local nonprofit Magdalene, a residential program for women recovering from prostitution, trafficking and addiction, extended its Thistle Farms social enterprise in May with the opening of the Thistle Stop Café at 5128 Charlotte Pike. The beautiful, cheerful cafe employs graduates of Magdalene — helping them work toward financial independence — and offers a full espresso bar and eats from local favorites like Arnold Myint’s AM@FM, Vegan Vee and Dozen Bakery.
