Pepperheads gravitate toward Charlie Tambellini’s stand at the Nashville Farmers’ Market like desperadoes looking for a shooting match, and right now top gun is the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper: 2 million Scoville units of bowel-melting, colon-dissolving, anus-incinerating heat. But it hurts oh so good in Further Farms’ Scorpion Stone sauce, pulverized to a paste with tequila and pomegranate juice for a fruity finish. It’s much more flavorful than the infamous ghost pepper, but be warned, bud: That popsicle you’ll need ain’t for eating.
