We’re not going to say Hattie’s is better than our long-standing benchmark, Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack, if for no other reason than fear that Prince’s owner André Prince Jeffries will start filling our medium orders with extra-hot. Still, Hattie’s spicy bird is in the same league — and unlike many other Nashville hot chicken purveyors, Hattie’s has plentiful seating, so you can wolf it down while it’s still hot temperature-wise, too. Throw in the availability of damn fine chicken tenders, and Hattie’s is a worthy, uh, contender. Order “Shut the Cluck Up” level heat at your own peril.
