Lots of worthy candidates in this category — Mitchell’s turkey-avocado-bacon, Fat Bottom’s hot chicken, and pretty much the whole roster at Savarino’s come rushing to mind. But this deliciously balanced combination of peppery grilled steak, creamy gruyere cheese and crisp baby arugula takes this year’s crown. It’s great on the standard cheese-flecked hoagie roll, and a masterpiece on sourdough.
