Best New Small-Scale Residential-Only Building

Sitting at the T-intersection of Blair and Belmont boulevards in the Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood, the 15-townhome Jenkins offers a dignity often lacking in Nashville’s newish multi-unit residential buildings. Whereas many of those structures display an odd hodgepodge of shapes, materials and colors, The Jenkins counters with elegant simplicity, revealing a mix of modernist and traditional aesthetics. Developer Evergreen Real Estate deserves props for honoring the memory of Mary Jenkins Hardin, a real estate investor who died in late 2015. WILLIAM WILLIAMS
