Best Abandoned Golf Course

It’s been a few years since you could set a tee time at Ravenwood, but even with a name befitting a Stephen King novel, the now-abandoned golf course in Hermitage remains a relaxing getaway. Flagless poles and stone markers stand as memorials to holes long forgotten, littering a silent landscape of rolling hills, sturdy trees and algae-thick ponds. Bike or walk old cart trails, enjoy the solitude and pray to the ghost of Arnold Palmer that the land doesn’t become a subdivision. MATT FOX
