Best Place to Read

In memory of much-missed author and philanthropist Sigourney Woods Cheek, who wrote movingly of her battle with leukemia before her death in 2010, this little gem of a garden devoted to the literary life features a small but welcoming amphitheater for poetry and book readings as well as nooks and benches for solitary reflection. And after an afternoon of intellectual exploration, take a stroll through the botanical gardens or wildflower trails. You won’t find this on Cheekwood’s online maps, but that only increases the chance you’ll actually get some reading done.
