Best Place to Bike (Even if You Don’t Own a Bike)

While there are several places to take to two wheels and explore, an underrated favorite is the Cumberland River Greenway, which follows the Cumberland from Nissan Stadium into Germantown and beyond via the MetroCenter Levee Greenway. The best part (aside from visiting with the family of woodchucks who live on the hill next to Fort Nashborough) is you don’t even have to own a bike to enjoy it. There are several B-cycle stations near the greenway, so you can just grab a bike for an hour or two. Plus, it’s mostly flat and away from a lot of traffic, making it a perfect place for riders who don’t want to be taken out by one of Nashville’s notoriously distracted drivers.
