Chart-topper Eric Church fancies himself an outsider in mainstream country; clearly many of his fans relate, as a whopping 18,411 of them proved in January by squeezing inside Bridgestone Arena to see him. That number set an attendance record for the home of the Nashville Predators, blowing past one previously set in 2006 by … wait for it … The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. But what’s most impressive is that Church’s parishioners didn’t just show up to hear hits like “Springsteen” and “Talladega”: They came to sing along to every number in the 28-song set like it was “Bohemian Rhapsody” at Live Aid.
