The-Hollow-Roots

The Hollow Roots have held high the banner for swaggering, bluesy rock with an exploratory edge in Nashville since they first took the stage circa 2014; they don’t sound like Stone Temple Pilots, but there’s something that rhymes about their approaches to taking their songs into unexpected territory. The Hollow Roots have been fairly quiet for the past couple of years, but they’ve been trickling out new singles every few weeks in 2026 — the latest as of this writing is the twangy and plangent “Reaching Out,” my favorite of the bunch — and they’re gearing up to make a grand return to the stage March 25 at The East Room. There is a bittersweet note to this news, though: Bassist Tyler Stonell has recently been diagnosed with a serious heart condition and is on the waiting list for a heart transplant. The group has set up a GoFundMe campaign to support Stonell and his family, and proceeds from the upcoming show are set to go to the cause as well. Cody Parsons and the Heavy Change, Year of October and Young Robot are on the bill as well.

8 p.m. at The East Room

2412 Gallatin Ave.
