Critic's Pick: Dylan Gossett & Charles Wesley Godwin

A one-two punch of country-folk troubadours known for writing sing-alongs that leave you simultaneously crying in your beer and shouting for more? Say less. Dylan Gossett and Charles Wesley Godwin — two solid players in the “sad songs make me happy” area of today’s country-roots landscape — will bring a co-headlining show Saturday night to The Pinnacle. Gossett, a Texas native who caught fire on social media with self-recorded videos showcasing his take on Red Dirt storytelling, plans his return to Nashville for the day after his sophomore album Ramblin’ hits streaming services and record-store shelves. Godwin, an Americana-leaning picker from Morgantown, W.V., tours this fall in support of Christian Name, a 13-song LP that debuted in July and includes collaborations with Luke Combs and Wyatt Flores. Show up early to the gig to catch an opening set from Sony Music Nashville upstart Max Alan.
