death becomes her

Thanks to over-the-top humor, stunning designs and a clever, poppy score, it’s no wonder Death Becomes Her was such a huge hit on Broadway. This outrageously dark musical comedy opened to rave reviews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre back in November 2024, earning a whopping 10 nominations at the 78th Tony Awards. Based on the classic 1992 film starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, the campy story — which follows a pair of narcissistic rivals willing to do absolutely anything to hold onto their youth and beauty — easily makes the leap from screen to stage, with smart direction and choreography by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli. You can get in on all the macabre fun as the national tour of Death Becomes Her finally arrives at TPAC on Nov. 3. Audiences can look forward to plenty of stage magic and theatrical gags — with glitzy Hollywood scenic designs from Derek McLane and incredible illusions by Tim Clothier. I’m especially eager to check out Paul Tazewell’s Tony-winning costumes. They’re to die for.

Nov. 3-8 at TPAC’s Jackson Hall

505 Deaderick St.
