Pikmin — tiny, leafy Nintendo mascots — are arriving in Nashville. The Nashville Pikmin Gathering, presented in partnership with the Broadway Entertainment Association, will take place this weekend, bringing fans of the Pikmin Bloom mobile app together for a trek downtown. Pikmin Bloom is a free-to-play fitness-based app, similar to Pokémon Go, where users travel to real locations to take on challenges, collect decorative Pikmin and plant in-app flowers. The cute, unique Pikmin designs can serve as the perfect motivator to get outside for a walk — and in Nashville’s case this month, to bring a sense of community with fellow users. Starting at a pop-up tent at the Walk of Fame Park, users will travel through seven “Special Spots” to collect in-game rewards related to the downtown area. Whether an attendee has freshly downloaded the app or has been an avid user for years, the Nashville Pikmin Gathering will bring in-app surprises alongside real-life experiences.
Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Walk of Fame Park
121 Fourth Ave. S.
