Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE) is a nonprofit in South Nashville that helps refugees and immigrants with social services, workforce development, after-school and summer camp, English classes and more. They’ve been around since 2005, and given what’s happening in the U.S. regarding immigration, their services are needed now more than ever. Their annual benefit gala, dubbed the Nicest Night in Nashville, is a jam-packed musical event. This year, the gala will be held at 3rd and Lindsley and will feature West African drums, mariachi music, jazz and country music, including Tom Douglas (“House That Built Me”), Marcus Hummon (“Cowboy Take Me Away”) and Phil Madeira (of Emmylou Harris’ backing band). All proceeds support NICE’s work, which has been impacted by federal and state funding cuts for nonprofit work. Tickets are $109.26 (including fees) and can be purchased online.

6:30-9:30 p.m. at 3rd and Lindsley

818 Third Ave. S.
