I finally visited The Pinnacle — the AEG-owned Nashville Yards venue that debuted in February 2025 — for the first time recently. The Truth, a co-venture between Live Nation and AJ Capital, became Music City’s latest mid-size concert space this month when country superstar Miranda Lambert christened the stage for an album release show on Oct. 1. Nashville was sorely lacking in venues of this size, so it’s nice to have these two join the fray. But the mega-corp ownership and questionable promotional tactics have made me hesitant. This weekend will be both a major test case for The Truth’s sound system and an appeal to local music heads as Jack White hits the stage for a two-night stint with a pair of Nashville favorites for openers: art-punks Snooper on Friday and indie rockers Bully on Saturday. It’s hard to argue with that trio of acts as a mission statement for your local commitment, but we’ll see. White’s latest, Frozen Charlotte, released in July, shreds. It will be loud. Stop by Jack White’s Parking Lot Purgatory on Friday at Third Man Records and on Saturday at the historic United Record Pressing building for a pre-show block party.
8 p.m. Oct. 9-10 at The Truth
440 Chestnut St.
