For the second straight year, David Newbould and Adam Dalton are combining their love of Neil Young and a good cause. With Harvest Moon: A Neil Young Tribute on Oct. 17 at Eastside Bowl, Newbould and Dalton are bringing together more than 20 artists to perform Young’s music and benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. “We love Second Harvest, and we love Neil, and it was so much fun last year and such a success, we thought we would just do it again,” Newbould tells the Scene. All ticket sales from the show, as well as sales of donated merch items, will go to Second Harvest. There will also be bins onsite for attendees to donate canned food items. Newbould’s band — Newbould (guitar, vocals), Dalton (guitars), Cory Nichols (bass) and Dylan Sevey (drums) — will serve as the house band for the evening and will be joined by guitarists John Jackson and Chark Kinsolving. Tim Carroll, Erin Rae, Nikki Barber, Keshia Bailey, Allen Thompson, Jon Latham, Kiely Connell and Irakli Gabriel are among the artists who will appear. Newbould says the setlist for the evening will be a mix of material from Young’s extensive catalog. “I think it’s a good balance,” he says. “It’s a lot of deep cuts with some hits.”
