Best Place for Pinball

While there may be a sad dearth of pinball in Nashville, those with crazy flipper fingers need only head south to Antioch to find a wonderland filled with silver balls, bumpers, ramps and targets. A visit to Game Galaxy is one of my very favorite ways to escape the stress of adulthood. Nestled in a strip mall, the space feels like your parents’ basement from the 1980s — it’s cool and dark, with the shades pulled down to block out sunlight. And everyone’s too focused on their own high score to pay you any mind as you jump from the new Ghostbusters game to the 1989 Robocop table. Not any good but still love the game? That’s OK. Most machines are set for free play, and admission is $5, $7 or $10 — for 30 minutes, an hour or a whole day of nudging and tilting. Just don’t hog my Monster Bash machine. MEGAN SELING
