Early in 2013, mainstream country music finally reflected a longstanding yet rarely uttered truth: The fairer gender likes Mary Jane just as much as boys do. Thanks to Kacey Musgraves and Ashley Monroe, who each released fine albums brimming with potent hash imagery, many critics wrote compellingly (if redundantly) about this shift and what it says about the values of country fans in 2013.
