It took them 10 years to get around to it, but the members of the Blakemore Trio finally released their first album last season. It was well worth the wait. Pianist Amy Dorfman, violinist Carolyn Huebl and cellist Felix Wang recorded two staples of the chamber repertoire — Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D major, Op. 70, No. 1, “Ghost,” and Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor. They gave the Beethoven an appropriately heroic reading, and they played Ravel’s dauntingly difficult music with clarity, spontaneity and effortless virtuosity. One hopes they don’t wait another 10 years to make their next recording.
