Swan Dive 2

Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary kicks off its annual Music in the Meadow concert series Saturday evening with a performance featuring pop duo Swan Dive — Bill DeMain and Molly Felder. They will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Jim Hoke. “Hoke has played on all 10 of our records,” DeMain tells the Scene. “So he’s definitely an honorary member in good standing.” Swan Dive has won fans across the globe — they’re literally “big in Japan” — with their brand of classic pop influenced by Burt Bacharach, bossa nova and jazzy soul. Although they never broke up, the duo went on hiatus for nearly a decade when Felder moved to Washington state. They resumed performing when she moved back to Nashville two years ago and recently released a single “Stop Buying Things,” their first new original music since 2014’s Soundtrack to Me and You. DeMain says “Stop Buying Things” will be one of three new songs they will perform Saturday night in a set list that will focus mostly on material from an album the group released in 2007. “We’re coming up on the 20th anniversary of one of our favorite records called Until,” DeMain explains. “It was a bossa nova record, so we’re going to be kind of leaning on that. We thought that would be really nice music for an outdoor summer evening.”

7 p.m. at Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary

545 Beech Creek Road S., Brentwood
