It’s one of the few untrue things Otis Gibbs has said on his podcast, but at least he got it out of the way in the very first episode: “I haven’t the slightest idea what I’m doing.” You’ll hear folks grouse from time to time about how Nashville isn’t the way it was back when it wasn’t the way it was before that. But if there’s anyone who just plain gets what makes the blood of this city move — storytelling and song — it’s Gibbs, whose slow affable drawl has done just fine for 120 episodes and counting.
