Soccer-Mommy-General-1

Hometown hero Soccer Mommy (aka Sophie Allison) has racked up several Best of Nashville awards throughout her decade-long career, including Best Single (for 2024’s “Lost”), Best Rock Album (for 2022’s Sometimes, Forever) and Best Record That’s Accidentally Perfect for a Pandemic (for 2020’s Color Theory). This fall, she’s teaming up with her friend Snail Mail for the 26-date S&M Tour, which will make a strong case for next year’s Best No-Brainer Indie Rock Tour award. Both artists made their names with poppy, guitar-driven tunes that captured both the joys and insecurities of young adulthood, and they each added new sonic ingredients as they wrestled with weightier themes on their latest releases. Soccer Mommy’s Evergreen used acoustic-heavy arrangements and ambient nature sounds to explore grief and loss, and Allison took the approach even further through a series of “stripped” tracks throughout 2025. Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan, meanwhile, has grown from the affectingly yearning teen singing of first loves and heartbreaks to a seasoned, strong and still relatively young voice, even as she muses on the passage of time and the (lack of?) meaning of life on this year’s Ricochet. New York’s Scarlet Rae opens. Soccer Mommy has a proud tradition of showing out for spooky season gigs, so expect some Halloween vibes at Wednesday’s show.
