Critic's Pick — Off Broadway: 'The Addams Family' in Concert

If you still haven’t experienced an Off Broadway at the Hutton show, you’re seriously missing out on one of the city’s hottest tickets. Introduced last fall, this polished cabaret series has quickly become a fan favorite, consistently serving up a stellar lineup of Broadway (and local) talent. Most shows are built around a specific theme — from Witch, Please (a colorful celebration of Wicked and all things Oz) to That’s So High School (featuring songs from shows like Mean Girls, Heathers, The Prom and Dear Evan Hansen). But this weekend’s edition is a bit different, welcoming Halloween with a spirited concert presentation of The Addams Family musical and an immersive experience that offers everything from specialty cocktails and a haunted house pop-up to a curated gallery of original Charles Addams cartoons. The cast features members of the Broadway company and the first national tour of The Addams Family, including Sara Gettelfinger, Brian Charles Rooney, Rachel Potter, Brian Justin Crum, Andrew Metzger, Megan Murphy Chambers, Geoff Davin, Carrie Brewer and Jeremy Parrish. And word has it that The Addams Family’s Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa will even be making a special guest appearance.
