You could apply many adjectives to onetime Nirvana skinsman and longtime Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, but perhaps the most fitting one is “indefatigable.” The 57-year-old just can’t quit — can’t quit cranking out records, popping up as a talking head in rock docs, making cameos in various media and shepherding arena tours. This year, Grohl and his band dropped Your Favorite Toy, the Foos’ 12th album and second since the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. Grohl himself played drums on the band’s last, 2023’s But Here We Are, while massively talented touring drummer Ilan Rubin took over behind the kit for Toy. The new record has plenty of the booming, distorted guitars and howling vocals the Foo Fighters have come to lean on over the past three decades, but Nashvillians who turn up for the band’s show Saturday at Nissan Stadium probably won’t hear much of it — recent set lists show the hit parade you might expect (“My Hero,” “Monkey Wrench,” “Learn to Fly,” “Best of You” and so on) alongside plenty of pyro and crowd-pleasing, instrument-swapping antics. And attendees need to find their seats in time for this one — in addition to an opening performance from badass Philly punks Mannequin Pussy, Nissan Stadium will get an all-killer-no-filler second-slot set from Grohl’s desert-rocking pals Queens of the Stone Age. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the show starting at 5:30.
