Critic's Pick: Big K.R.I.T.

Mississippi MC Big K.R.I.T. makes it look so easy: beats full of bass, rhymes and hooks full of soul, all pulled from a deep knowledge of Southern rap and its musical forebears. The winning, trunk-rattling formula continued on 2025’s Dedicated to Cadalee Biarritz, loosely fashioned by short skits as a Cadillac-devoted radio station. K.R.I.T. bounces from harmonizing to talking shit to obligatory odes to his sub. (“The Everliving Sub Knocker” seems to expand the six-part “My Sub” series.) Cadalee received a deluxe release and a chopped-and-screwed remix this year, giving Krizzle even more to work with on tour. Atlanta rapper Scotty ATL supports at Friday’s show.
