As Nashville drowns in doodles, people who love rescues (and the challenges they come with) are rare. VCA Murphy Road is such a place. When my 11-breed mix, Levon, proved too nervous for even Prozac to calm, they offered me phone consultations, sedated exams done in tandem with grooming, and other extra-mile behaviors that simplified our lives. This is to say nothing of their beautiful end-of-life care for my last rescue, Ripley, which included waived X-ray fees, a handwritten note from staff, and her paw print delivered with her ashes.
