Best Predator

After only four full seasons — and at just 24 years old — Filip Forsberg already ranks fifth on the Predators’ all-time list for goals scored (117) and is the only player in franchise history to score 30 or more goals in a season twice. He tied the Nashville record with 33 in 2015-16 and had 31 in 2016-17. Last season Forsberg displayed a unique imagination with some mind-bending goals, including a couple in which he passed the puck to himself between his legs to set up the shot. That kind of flair is something the Predators have not had, and it will help draw attention to a team that — despite its recent success — still gets overlooked a little too often. But he’s not just flash. He produces when it matters, as evidenced by the fact that only two players in franchise history have produced more game-winning goals than Forsberg, who has 24, and only two have produced more overtime goals than Forsberg, who has five.
