When I first moved to the south side of town, my headlight went out. I went to a big-box supply store, they fixed my light, and then they pointed across the street at the sign for The Mechanic on Nolensville Pike. “When you have car trouble, go there.” I heeded their advice, and I was not disappointed. Not only is The Mechanic’s customer service reliable and friendly, the mechanics are truthful. I’ve heard, “No charge, there’s nothing else wrong,” when my battery died but I insisted something else was awry, and, “You’ve still got plenty of time left on those back brakes,” after the folks at a major chain told me my brakes were on their last legs. And when my car actually did need repairs, the folks at The Mechanic have done a quick and solid job, and their services cost less than I’ve been quoted elsewhere. You can’t ask for much more than that. ELIZABETH JONES
