Let’s say you hated the first cycling class you went to. Maybe you even thought you were going to throw up. Perhaps the room was too small, the music too loud, the air too stuffy. Nobody said losing weight was going to be easy, friends, but you don’t have to suffer that much. CycleBar may seem a little intimidating from the outside, but don’t let that keep you from trying what is seriously the best cycling experience in the city. Don’t get me wrong: It’s tough, but everyone is in control of their own ride, and the room is dark, so it’s really scout’s honor as to how hard you’re working. What sets CycleBar in the Gulch apart is its incredible staff — from the welcoming folks at the front desk to the kick-ass instructors, a wonderful group of young women who are born motivators. Plus, it’s downright fun. CycleBar offers themed rides based on music (I initially bristled at the fact that the ’80s-themed class was called a “throwback ride,” but then realized I was the only person in the room born in the ’70s), and the studio is spacious, clean and inviting. Also, you can park for free in the lot across the street (for up to an hour). There, now you have no excuses. Go get it. ABBY WHITE
